Camile
A pleasure GELF --- a Genetically Engineered Life Form ---, which appears to everyone as their fantasy partner, Camille first encounters the Red Dwarf crew through Kryten, as the mechanoid searches for survivors on a crashed ship from which he and Rimmer have picked up a distress signal. She appears to Kryten as a female mechanoid, with whom he falls instantly in love. However, when the two "mechanoids" return to Starbug, Rimmer sees her as a beautiful female hologram, who falls instantly in love with him!. Naturally, Lister sees her as a human female, but when the answers Camille gives Rimmer sound different to Lister's ears than how Rimmer hears them, Dave knows something is up, and it isn't long before the truth is discovered, to everyone's disappointment.
Kryten, however, declares that no matter what Camille looks like in reality he would still love her, and when she changes into a huge amorphous green blob --- her true form --- he is not in the least fazed, and they go on a date. All too soon though, Camille's husband arrives at the ship and though Camille wants to stay with Kryten, the mechanoid forces her to go, realising that her best chance of happiness is with the blob she loves...
